Program Assistance

Together with their network of 13 local chapters, KidSport Nova Scotia provide grants to help cover the costs of sport registration and equipment fees so that all kids aged 18 and under in Nova Scotia can play a season of sport.

Managed and operated in Nova Scotia by Sport Nova Scotia since 1994, KidSport Nova Scotia has assisted over 31,000 children by granting out over $7.7 Million!

If you want to apply for a KidSport grant or learn more about the program details, start by finding your closest chapter or submitting your grant through the Provincial Fund.

Grants are available up to $500 per child to cover registration and equipment fees.

Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart is more that just about getting kids active. It’s about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbours, their classmates and their friends. Whether it’s the chance to try a new sport or to continue with a favourite one, no kid should be left out.

Giving kids the opportunity to access sport and play is essential for their growth and development, which is why Jumpstart funds a variety of different sports and activities all with the goal of giving all kids the chance to discover their passion.

Funding is available for kids from ages 4 to 18.

We are excited to share that Ski Ben Eoin has been selected to receive a Community Grant and an Operational Grant from @CTJumpstart.
These grants will go a long way towards helping us purchase new CSA safety helmets for our rental fleet and to give 55 children, from youth based organizations within our community, the opportunity to participate in a 5 week learn-to-ski or snowboard program in an inclusive environment that is welcoming, safe, supportive and empowering, free from stigma and socioeconomic barriers.
Lets all give Jumpstart a huge shout-out, thank you Jumpstart! And let’s give a huge shout out to all the hard working non-profit organizations out there who work tirelessly to give children an equal opportunity to participate in sports and play. Keep up the good work! #SupportedByJumpstart
Since 2005 Jumpstart has disbursed more than $225 million to help over 3 million kids and counting. For more information, visit  http://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca
