Ski Ben Eoin News
We are thrilled to announce funding for our capital project that will allow us to begin much-needed upgrades to our ski hill!
With generous contributions from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), the Province of Nova Scotia, and the Cape Breton Regional Municipality, we’ve secured the funding to move these improvements forward. We want to thank all levels of government for their continued support.
Here’s where the investment will go: Upgrading our snowmaking systems to combat those warmer winter days, installing LED trail lighting and making essential improvements to the main components of our chairlift.
We hope these upgrades mean longer seasons and more outdoor fun. We can’t wait to see everyone hitting the slopes!
We’re looking for a mountain operation maintenance worker for immediate employment, specifically for regular fall preparations and upgrade project work.
This position includes outdoor and indoor work with physical labour. Electrical, mechanical, heavy equipment operation / repair skills would be an asset. Any prior experience working in mountain operations at a ski hill will be strongly considered.
This is a full time position averaging approximately 40 hours/week and may extend through the operating season working on snowmaking, lift operations and other duties. Email application to mountain operations manager Shaun MacNeil @ [email protected]

Our History
In 1968, a group of enthusiastic, thrill-seeking skiers took their energy and love for the sport from Coxheath to the beautiful hills of Ben Eoin. Their mission was to develop a ski facility for local residents as well as the visiting public.
Through the group’s dedication and tenacity along with funding assistance received from the Cape Breton Development Corporation, community support groups and private donations, their dream became a reality with the official opening of Ski Ben Eoin. Membership dollars were adopted as a vital element in maintaining a ski operation.
